My understanding was that with the adoption of cicpTag in version 4.4 (2022), that links to ITU or SMPTE specification, ICC profiles would be used for still and video HDR contents on computers. From your reply, I'm learning that this would probably not be the case.
Version 4 is the default of my calibration tool from x-rite, but actually in my current workflow I do not have any constraint that prevents me to use a version 2 profile. That being said, a version 4 support is likely more future proof as this version in constantly updated from ICC consortium, for example HDR support has been recently added.
Why are you using ICC v4 ? They bring no improvement over v2, which explains why many software didn't bother implementing support. More details : https://www.argyllcms.com/doc/iccgamutmapping.html

When system display profile is an ICC version 4, darkroom visualization is noticeable darker, see attached comparison image.Ansel version is 0.0.0+984~gbe2369ae and operating system is Windows 10.

Thanks, I've found it in the CAT tab.

Using Sony proprietary raw converter (Imaging Edge), but I remember to have seen something similar with Canon DPP, raw files converted to sRGB or AdobeRGB look different (even without out of sRGB gamut colors in the scene). I think this is due to different gamut mapping between native camera color space and sRGB or Adobe RGB. This behavior made me think about the fact that gamut mapping curves are out of user control.Back to Ansel, would it make sense to have a module that allows to control gamut compression, much like filmic RGB does with respect to luminance?

I struggle to set up the size of GUI with my system. My monitor is 5120x2880, 27 inches (218 DPI) and Windows resize is set to 250%. The best compromise is character 5.0 points (minimum) and DPI GUI and text 218. I would prefer a smaller layout, but if I reduce DPI I get non homogeneous text. But the problem is with vectorscope. It resizes downto 22% of the display approximately (that is huge), then it is clipped on both sides.By the way, I'm using 0.0.0+922~g7f23d9d38 on Windows 10.

Hi again,I've noticed that the issue happens when images have not yet been processed. For example, enabling exposure module in Darkroom (zero adjustment) fixes the issue in Lighttable.

Hi,I'm using Ansel on Windows 10 and my monitor profile is generated by calibration software: color space is AdobeRGB.In Lighttable module, jpeg images with embedded sRGB color profile look strongly oversaturated instead color reproduction is fine in Darkroom and Slideshow modules. Images with embedded AdobeRGB color profile are always correct. In attachment two jpg images I've generated with Gimp to quickly detect visualization issues. The former has sRGB embedded color space, the latter has AdobeRGB: the leftmost two patches should look very similar in both images.
